Yoga is an integrated system of wholesome living that aims at the good health and harmonious development of the human personality. Its practices are based upon the timeless laws of Nature.
Yoga is an aid to establishing a new way of life that provides a means for people to connect with their true selves. Its holistic principles of harmony and unification work upon all aspects of the person – the physical, emotional, mental, moral as well as the spiritual dimension of the self.
While the modern sciences have largely been unsuccessful in alleviating diseases such as asthma, diabetes, blood pressure, backache, arthritis, digestive disorders and other chronic ailments, Yoga has worked miracles as an alternative form of therapy.
Yoga facilitates the development of a healthy body, a superior mind and an enlightened consciousness. It helps to develop a wider perspective that brings about an inner balance of the personality.
This program stretches over a span of four weeks, 90 minutes each day. The Yoga principles and practices taught herein are drawn from the teachings of Late Dr. Jayadeva Yogendra of The Yoga Institute, Santacruz, Mumbai. The program design is detailed in the adjoining table.
